As many of you know, I have been Mission Building with Youth With A Mission (YWAM) Maui for the last 4 months. Essentially, I was a volunteer. It was an opportunity to come alongside the YWAM community and serve. I served in the Hospitality Department where I baked, cleaned and organized events. The past 4 months have been filled with fun, growth, and community. During my time there, God had been revealing His bigger purpose for me and why He called me to Maui. Over the course of my time there, God had been heavily speaking His truth into my heart. He has given me dreams, conformation in His word and affirming words through people. Two weeks ago, He spoke clearly and it became evident to me why He called me to Maui. His bigger purpose. He has presented me with the opportunity to meld my two greatest passions together.
YWAM Maui DTS (Discipleship Training School) is a six month adventure that will deepen my faith and challenge me to live a life worthy of the calling God has given me. The DTS is an intensive six-month program that fuels inward transformation and outward application through worship, teachings, prayer, evangelism, service, compassion, etc. The first three months are spent here in Maui growing in my relationship with God and in the knowledge of the world around us. The emphasis is on personal application, not just “head knowledge”. The second three months is spent on outreach (the primary focus is Southeast Asia), sharing the truth and love of Jesus Christ with others. YWAM Maui is here to first cultivate intimacy with Jesus—to discover as much as we can of our infinite, personal God. At YWAM Maui I will be encouraged and challenged in my walk with the Lord. As I get to know Him better, I will develop a better understanding of the purpose of my life—to love Him, love others, and make disciples of all nations. DTS is a time of stripping away, rebuilding, learning, equipping, and going.
The school will start January 4, 2014. I need to raise $8200.00 total for the school and outreach. $4500 for lecture phase is due January 4th. The remaining amount will be due a month into the school. I am asking for monthly sponsors and one time gift sponsors to help in financial support and to join me in growing God’s kingdom further into the nations. It will be a blessing to see how God will provide all that I need for this trip, the way He did when I went to Africa.
